In 2007, she had the opportunity to work in a commodity inspection company as a translator for British and American directors dealing with Brazilian staff. In 2009, she passed a test to work as an in-house translator for a Brazilian translation company, where she gained professional experience on technical translations and reviews and had a chance to work with CAT tools for the first time.
Also in 2009, she volunteered to help the Spiritist Alliance for Books in the Portuguese into English translation of two books adapted for children and young adults. Both titles, The Little Spirits’ Book and The Gospel According to Spiritism for Young adults and Beginners, were published in the U.S. in 2010.
Since January 2011, she has been dedicating herself full time to freelance translations and reviews. She is continuously studying the field and has been attending translation seminars and taking courses to work in different fields, such as subtitling and literary translation.
