Born in Portugal, Elisabete has always been passionate about languages from an early age. That’s why she decided to engage in translation studies in the first place. She graduated in Specialized Translation in 2002 and, since the beginning of her freelance career, she has been providing translation and proofreading services to both national and international companies and individuals.
Among her major areas of interest are technical, medical and pharmaceuticals, videogames and online games, advertising, and tourism, as well as website localization and information technology.
In addition to her regular assignments, she also undertakes
pro-bono translation work. She is a member of
Traducteurs Sans Frontières (Translators Without Borders), volunteering her time as a translator whenever necessary. She also collaborates as a volunteer to ADNG Diving and to
Associação Portuguesa de Coelhos Anões (Portuguese Association of Dwarf Rabbits), the latter mainly because of her deep love for animals and her strong desire to donate her work to these causes.
She takes great pride in her work as a freelance translator and proofreader and strives for quality in every assignment she is trusted with. She is also planning to study Italian and to complete her studies in Russian.

A native Italian, while at University she started working as an in-house translator in a large Italian company dedicated to the building industry, which gave her in-depth knowledge in this field. She translated manuals, technical sheets, legal documents, and foreign correspondence. Her work description also included editing and proofreading documents and manuals written in English, French or Italian by technicians who were not so fluent in these languages.
Having had this opportunity, in 2005 she decided to start working as a freelance translator, specializing in the legal and tourism fields.

After earning her Bachelor’s degree in French from Immaculata College, Gina then taught English classes at an école primaire in France. She subsequently served as a language center Administrator, and then as Executive Assistant for the U.S. subsidiary of a French corporation, before spending time in Brussels, Belgium.

A native Spanish speaker from Peru, Gloria has studied English since kindergarten and continues to refines her language skills. After graduating with an MD from Universidad San Martin de Porres, in Lima, she worked for the Peruvian Navy as a physician before moving to the United States, where she earned a Certificate of Translation and Interpretation (English/Spanish) from the UC San Diego Extension. Born and raised in the Unites States, Mark developed an early interest in different languages and cultures. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in European Studies from Vanderbilt University, where he focused on Italian language and culture. He also worked in Milan, Italy, for two summers during his undergraduate studies, where he translated press releases, contracts, and news articles from Italian to English.
Mark began studying Arabic in 2002 at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. During his Master's studies (2003-2005), he received three separate certificates of summer language study in Arabic at the American University in Cairo. In 2007, Mark graduated with an M.A. in Near Eastern Studies from the University of Arizona, specializing in Arabic language and culture.

Born in the United States, Lisa was raised in San Antonio and started learning Spanish in school at age 10. After college, she started studying French in preparation for a trip, sparking a lifelong fascination. Since 2007 she has divided her time between France and the US, and she looks forward to raising a bicultural, multilingual family in the future. She loves language and culture, and her work as a writer/translator is her dream job. With friends and clients on almost every continent, she thrives on international exchange.
Her Spanish translation work includes over 150 medical projects for several agencies and direct clients, such as hospitals and pharmaceutical companies. Her French translation work includes countless medical and marketing projects for clients such as GoodPlanet.org, ITL North America, and top agencies in France and the United States. She is also skilled in transcreation, adapting ad campaigns for the U.S. market.
